The Infinite Moment of My Life is Now Becoming (2 min. 2001) Produced and edited by Lester Alfonso with footage from Zero, a pop-up art/performance by the Hijack collective.
Make some noise. Clap — stomp your feet. Dance. Feel what it’s like to be alive. I invite you to celebrate together with me here now and wherever you are, let’s affirm life by making some kind of noise. Woohoo! Yeah, I need to do everything in my power to accept all parts of myself. Deep wounds may be coming up but they’re only becoming available to be healed. I don’t want to hide from myself. I don’t want to hide from others either. I operate much better when my heart is open and I can communicate freely. Only the feelings that I let in can be healed. Let’s celebrate life while we have it. Made it this far: Day 58. I found a video ritual to dispell bad vibes. (You’re welcome.)
In planning for our 2001 pop-up art exhibit and performance Zero, the Hijack collective wanted to include a moment of unbridled tribal unity through everyone in the room making sounds of any kind. Leading it off, Wayne Elliott performed his spoken-word piece Not Broken which segued into what I had artlessly called Garage Jam at the time. The partially-serious intention was to incite a kind of love-riot of spontaneous yawps and yelps from the audience. We were interested in making a “space for spontaneity” and I thought we could somehow teleport the energy from the magical Garage Jam to that location in Toronto. Incidentally, Dael Wilson, an actual shaman, is seen briefly at the end of the video which I think makes this video even more potent. Enjoy!

P.S. If you’re liking these daily posts, perhaps you can consider becoming a monthly donor for a year or making a one-time contribution. It would seriously help a lot. Your money goes directly into supporting an artist committed to continually become the best version of himself. Thank you so much! Much love, LA
